Editorial & magazine agreement · EDITORIAL-2026.1

Clear terms.
Editorial specific.

Clarity for sensitive, time-bound reporting. These terms protect editorial independence, subject dignity, access, captions, embargoes, and licensed publication.

01

Project scope

The project proposal defines the date, locations, hours, collaborators, deliverables, expenses, and license. Work outside that written scope is discussed and quoted before it is added.

02

Reservation & payment

A date is reserved only after the signed agreement and proposal retainer are received. The proposal sets the payment schedule; overdue balances may pause production or delivery.

03

Creative authorship

The client is commissioning Ishrar’s documented visual approach and professional judgment. Capture, selection, sequencing, color, sound, and final finishing remain creative decisions made within the approved brief.

04

Delivery & safekeeping

The proposal gives an estimated delivery window and gallery term. The client must download and back up final files. Raw, unedited, rejected, or project-source files are not included unless explicitly listed.

05

Editorial independence

The photographer will not stage documentary events or materially misrepresent a subject. Requested illustrative or directed portraits are identified as such when context requires.

06

Captions, access & safety

The assigning client supplies reliable background, names, spellings, permissions, security guidance, and a reachable editor. Unsafe or unethical instructions may be declined.

07

First publication & archive

The proposal defines exclusivity, embargo, territory, edition, syndication, and archive rights. Additional editions, partners, reprints, covers, or commercial reuse require clearance.

08

Changes, cancellation & the unexpected

The proposal sets the project-specific rescheduling, cancellation, weather, illness, venue, force-majeure, and liability terms. Everyone will act in good faith, and work may stop where people, equipment, law, or creative integrity face unreasonable risk.

09

Electronic execution & mutual acceptance

Each party may sign this agreement electronically. The customer signature records acceptance of the service-specific terms and the studio signature records acceptance of the same confirmed scope. When both signatures are present, this electronic record is intended to bind both parties to the confirmed booking, subject to applicable law.

This is the editorial & magazine service template, version EDITORIAL-2026.1. The final project proposal supplies pricing, dates, detailed deliverables, license scope, and jurisdiction. Have counsel review this template before using it as a production contract.
